Young people in Kent can’t enjoy Christmas without social media, according to a survey. The Children’s Society asked more than 1,000 people aged 13-to-17-year-olds and found a fifth who looked at social media at Christmas said friends were having a better time. We spoke to social media expert Zoe Cairns
Using social media too often can cause unhappiness. That’s according to new research by the University of Essex and University College London, saying that 10-year-old girls who use social networks are more likely to suffer emotional problems than their peers. We were joined by our social media expert, Zoe Cairns, to talk a bit more about this.

More than a million people have signed an online petition calling on Snapchat to reverse its redesign. In a controversial redesign, the company swapped the stories and messages functions for content shared by celebrities and news outlets. Snapchat had aimed to make their app more accessible and attractive to new users, but many have complained it’s become more difficult to navigate.
